Our latest trip brings us to the Nation's Capital. We stayed at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC. Our main point of interest was to stay in a hotel convenient to the Metro and within reasonable walking distance to the great restaurants and sites in Washington, DC. Our team of 1800RateHotels.com professionals chose the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel in Southwest DC for our latest excursion.

If you're looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay in the federal district not far from Capitol Hill, L'Enfant Plaza, Arena Stage and close to the Metro, you won't be disappointed. Some of the Smithsonian Institution museums, like the Hirshhorn and the Air and Space, are just a few blocks away and make for a pleasant walk in nice weather. There's a bustling shopping center nearby with plenty of stores and places to eat.

Our 1800RateHotels.com staff was delighted to discover that the American Grill on the premises serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, although we also sampled the fare at the Foggy Brew Pub and enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and well kept. The staff was polite, and the concierge was very patient in giving guests directions to the various sights and events in Washington. We found it easier to use either their limo service or hop on the Metro. L'Enfant Plaza is a transfer station on the blue, orange, green and yellow lines. The silver line connection to Dulles Airport in nearby Virginia is currently under construction and should be open by 2013.
